Ryan Adams @ TPAC

Ryan Adams played TPAC on Friday night to a very sold out crowd. He opened with a great version of "Shakedown on 9th Street". After about a 15 minute time period in which Ryan couldn't be found. Ryan seemed to be in a very good mood and was very talkative. He even joked about his own music. making the comment at one point that "All his songs are the same." He also told a story about destroying a guitar while performing on Austin City Limits. His performance included a great version of "Magnolia Mountain". A very dark and deep bluesy version of "When you're Young". Minnie Driver sang backing vocals on "Games". "The End" sound great live and Ryan even played past the curfew of the venue. My only complaint about this show is that I really don't like TPAC. I really wanted to dance to this show but the seated venue kept everyone in their seats. Hopefully next year will see Ryan do a little more touring. Overall I give this show four socks off because Ryan is definitely one of the best song writers around and when he keeps it together live he is amazing.
